Goodbye Harry Potter -- The 2nd Part of Deathly Hallows Film

I was really waiting for the release of the 2nd part of the film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. As you could see I have written a post concerning the film's premiere last July 7, 2011 at the Trafalgar Square in London, England. You can read more the premiere here.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
Okay, in this post, let me share my thoughts on the final Harry Potter film. I am a big fan of this franchise and I started watching the series since the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, aka Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in the UK. There have been a lot of transformation not only from the characters but to the overall stories as well. As the series go by, the ambiance of the set is getting darker and darker.

Harry Potter Casts
We have witness how several Harry Potter stars have grown in the screen since the first film.

Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) is still good looking but I guess his height wasn't going up (LOL). It's okay, he still manages how to get into the character. I like to look at him wearing round glasses though.

Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), he's grown taller than Dan and Emma. I guess his looks have evolved but I guess Dan is much more handsome. His character is really funny, that's what I love about him.

Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) has grown as well. In fact, she is even taller than Dan. I was shocked when she cut her hair short. However, she still looks gorgeous in that pixie cut.

Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) - she wasn't given much exposure in HP 1, 3, 4, and 5. Her character was given more focus at the 2nd film (she was the one who opened the Chamber of Secrets). Likewise, her romance with Harry was depicted in the 6th, 7th, and 8th film. She has transformed into a beautiful lady like Emma does. But I guess Emma is much more beautiful than her.

Matthew Lewis - Probably, the huge transformation I have seen is Neville Longbottom. Do you remember the fat boy in the first two films? Hermione cast a stunning spell on him when the trio went to follow Professor Quirrel in the dungeon. I guess he is the tallest of all. He's become hot (sizzling szzzzzhhh).

Tom Felton -- Tom is really cute during the first few films of the series. Although, I really don't like his character but he seems to play it well. It's no wonder why Emma Watson has a crush on him when they were still filming the first HP film. Like Neville, he is also tall. But I guess he is going to be more handsome if he bulks up a bit. I guess he is too skinny, especially in the final film.

Difference Between the Book and the Film

Going back to the content of the film and book. There were quite a few alterations and additions in the film. Well, we cannot blame the script writer or the director in summarizing the stories for a two-hour movie.

The Dispute Between Wizards and Goblins
The film was not able to talk about the disputes between Goblins and wizards in terms of using magic and wielding of weapons like the Gryffindor sword. You could see how Griphook took advantage of getting the sword, which according to him was owned by the Goblins because they are the ones who created it.

Kissing Scenes Ron + Hermione and Harry + Ginny

I was really surprised when Ron and Hermione shared a kiss at the Chamber of Secrets. Although their kiss was in the book, I wasn't just expecting that they are going to kiss right after they destroy Helga Hufflepuff's cup, which is identifed as Lord Voldemort's horcrux. Well, I guess that's the start of their official romance. They could not admit to each other, especially Ron, that they have feelings for each other since the first few films of the series. Good for them!

The kissing scene between Harry and Ginny in the stairs was not stated in the book. I read somewhere that it is Dan Radcliffe who suggested it to be in the movie. According to him, that scene will be the one you need to do to the person you love when you thought that it would be the last time you may ever see her. Nice suggestion but I guess it would have done better if it is not filmed shortly.

Ginny Vs. Cho

How I wish the screenwriter include the scene wherein Cho suggested Harry that she will accompany him in the common room of Ravenclaw to know about the lost diadem, but was interrupted by Ginny. Oh Harry you are such a lucky guy.  Here are those lines in the book:

Cho: If you’d like to see what the diadem’s supposed to look like, I could take you up to our common room and show you, Harry? Ravenclaw’s wearing it in her statue.
Cho had got to her feet, but Ginny said rather fiercely, “No, Luna will take Harry, won’t you, Luna?”
“Oooh, yes, I’d like to,” said Luna happily, and Cho sat down again, looking disappointed.

Master of Death
During the battle in Hogwarts, Harry did not wear his Cloak of Invisibility that much as it was stated in the book. During Snape's murder, he is supposed to be wearing the cloak, likewise to his flight towards Lord Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest. The film must have shown Harry wearing the Cloak of Invisibility to show that he is the Master of Death as he also possesses the Elder Wand and the Resurrection Stone given to him by Professor Albus Dumbledore, which was inside the snitch.

Molly Weasley vs. Bellatrix Lestrange
A mother's love to her daughter or son is the best of all. As you could have seen, Molly Weasley (Ron, Ginny, Bill, Percy, Charlie, Fred, and George's mother and wife of Arthur) killed Bellatrix (the most loyal Death Eater of Lord Voldemort) while protecting her only daughter Ginny during the Battle of Hogwarts. I love how she carries her line:
Not my daughter you bitch!
You should see the movie and look into Molly's reaction right after she killed Bellatrix (Helena Bonham Carter) in the film.

Honestly, I love how Helena Bonham Carter portrays the role of Bellatrix. She is really great when it comes to acting. She was in the film Alice in Wonderland playing the Red Queen, the film's antagonist.

Epilogue
Harry's much good looking during the epilogue of the movie.  Along with Ginny, Ron, and Hermione, they join their kids for another school year in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The one playing Albus Severus Potter (Arthur Bowen) is really cute. He looks like Harry.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is one of the best movies of 2011. It marks the end of an era.  I have watched it nth times already. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out at theaters near you.

Thank you J.K. Rowling for creating a book series that captivated all our minds and hearts. Likewise to Warner Bros. and the staff and casts of the film for their creativity in interpreting Ms. Rowling's imagination. Congratulations to all Harry Potter fans out there. Harry's spell will remain till the end of time. Cheers!
